Our UV systems can be used to efficiently cure coatings on automotive parts in various processes such as painting and bonding. Both solvent-based, solvent-free and aqueous UV coatings are used for painting. The use of UV systems makes it possible to achieve special effects, such as an outstanding high-gloss finish for automotive fittings, anti-fingerprint coatings or increased scratch resistance.
Both conventional UV systems and LED UV systems are used for curing cationic, radical or dual-cure coatings. Thanks to the HotSwap concept, these systems can be operated flexibly and alternately as required.
Our UV systems offer numerous application possibilities in the automotive industry, both for spot and large-area bonding. They can also be used for a variety of substrates, including plastics such as PET, ABS and PC, glass and aluminium. They are used for decorative interior and exterior components such as centre consoles, fittings, headlight lenses, diffuser lenses and car windows. Other applications include IMD coatings (in-mould decoration), black parts such as pumps, gearboxes and linkages as well as UV adhesives for anti-drumming mats. Brake and clutch linings, reflector housings and aluminium rims can also be processed efficiently with our systems.
In addition, the PVD process (Physical Vapour Deposition) enables the effective finishing of automotive parts, in which metal is vapour-deposited onto plastic in a vacuum chamber. Our UV systems are used in this process for curing UV primers or UV top coats.
Our UV systems for the automotive industry impress with a low temperature load on the substrates and reduced energy consumption thanks to high UV efficiency. The compact systems can be easily integrated into new and existing production facilities. Nitrogen consumption is minimised with inertised UV and excimer systems, which also helps to reduce operating costs.
